My name is Robert Bourassa, and I have been working as a professional psychic reader for over 32 years, recording intuitive/psychic reads for people around the world.
My intuitive/psychic abilities started to show up in my youth and I was surrounded by people that were intuitive.
My first experience with a professional psychic came when I was in 8th grade. I got to see a presentation in a local mall by one of the world’s best readers Dr. Richard Ireland.
By the time I got to high school I was surrounded by many different spiritual paths and studied many different religions. I even had the desire to run off with the Hare Krishnas that came through my high school.
After graduating from high school, I was presented the opportunity to see Dr. Ireland again. My senior year in high school a very close friend had died. Prior to his death he had told me things in confidence. The next time I heard those words were when Dr. Ireland repeated them to me after “reading” my billet.
I had always been interested in psychic abilities but was always very skeptical till then. I was surprised!
Fast forward to a year before I entered the University.
I decided to learn to meditate and had chosen Transcendental Meditation (TM) as my path. Not only did meditation calm and center me but for once I was able to hear the positive thoughts in my head. I had not heard these so loudly since prior to my adolescence.
I actually dropped into a bliss state for several months. My friends and family were very surprised by the changes in me.
At this time, I began to realize that I just knew things.
It is hard to explain but I just knew things that I could not have known. I had not studied them, nobody told me the information, I just felt it or heard it as a thought.
I was constantly getting myself into trouble with people I had never met by telling them something I could not or should not have known. Not only was this embarrassing at times it also caused some discomfort. I learned to censor myself very quickly.
While a freshman at the University I became a Nichiren Shoshu Buddhist.
This gave me an opportunity to learn an outward chant form of meditation. This allowed me to focus outwardly the same way I had inwardly through TM. I was quite the mix, Hindu and Buddhist meditation, a departure from my family but certainly no surprise.
I was also exposed to Light Hands Healing through the Mahikari Buddhist, my Artist/Actor friend Mitchell John Ascuena was a part of. I received healing light and enjoyed it!
After graduating with a BS in Chemistry from the University I had the opportunity to have a psychic read done by Louis Anthony Russo, renowned Psychic and Improv Actor/Director. Louis had invited me to participate in a Psychic Development class he was teaching. I was not sure at the time and said no, but thank you. He told me to repeat the following, “not now thank you, perhaps another time.”
When he presented the request the second time, a few years later, I was able to participate.
He challenged me to be playful with this and to gather the data.
As it turned out I did very well, even surprised myself. Upon completing the class Louis requested that I work a Psychic Fair. I did and I had a blast. Everybody said, “you don’t look psychic.” Maybe I don’t, I just don’t know.
I continued doing reads at local hang outs and parties as entertainment. I never really took any of this seriously and folks just kept telling me how accurate I was. I continued to study with Louis and was exposed to many psychic/intuitive healers.
We had a group called the “Inner Circle”. A group of psychics, healers, shaman, and wise women that participated. My friends, out of love, asked me to participate in healing they saw necessary, I went into “the crucible of self-exploration”. I became the focus of many lessons, healings and opportunities through the Inner Circle work we all did. I let go of opinions and attitudes I had carried for a longtime and I learned quickly that there is more to this world than meets the eye.
During that time, I also signed up for classes with the Arizona Actors Lab in Scottsdale, my teacher was Janelle Robinson. She told me not to quit my day job as I was the worst actor she had ever seen perform. Not bad, the last time on stage for me was 6th grade choir and before that was Ringmaster in Kindergarten Circus.
One of the actors in my class gave me my first Reiki session, more light hands healing.
I continued to study and work with Louis Russo as an improv actor at the Arizona Renaissance Festival and with the improv group he started, The OxyMorons, who later ended up at The Star Theater.
I was working as a Materials Engineer/Chemist at Allied Signal Aerospace, performing improv and doing psychic reads on the side. I was doing a bit of research in corrosion chemistry and got information in my dreams for the direction of the experiments. Actually, I was getting information throughout the day that I could not explain. I had the opportunity for a PhD program that my management did not allow, June of 1991 my term as a Materials Engineer/Chemist ended.
It was at the end of the first Gulf War conflict. Chemists and Materials Engineers were a dime a dozen. My science days were over for now.
After moving to San Diego, I really worked on becoming a better actor, years of acting classes, many plays and finally opportunity in television and movies. During this time, I worked on a psychic hotline, psychic reads by the minute and working through many nights. I was able to work for people around the United States over the phone. I was able to really develop my abilities at this time. Knowing I could do much better on my own, I went back to finding my own clientele and developing my business.
